Local Police Checks By Gerald @ Pardons HomeSeptember 4, 2017Edited by Admin0 Back to Home Recently a client was required to complete 2 local police checks for their Record Suspension application as they had lived in 2 different jurisdictions within the past 5 years. However, upon going to the first local police detachment, they were informed that they would only have to complete 1 local police check as all police detachments access CPIC to complete the forms. The client called Pardons Canada quite frustrated believing that we asked him to get a local police check that would not be necessary for his application. After a discussion with the client we confirmed that he in fact did live in 2 different jurisdictions within the past 5 years and must complete 2 different local police checks. We confirmed that the police access the same database when completing the local police check forms however 2 different local police checks would be required. It was advised that if the same police indicate that he must only complete 1 local police check then he should speak to a supervisor or the officer in charge of completing the local police checks. After speaking to a supervisor the client was able to confirm what we had indicated and that he must complete 2 different local police checks. The client was able to have his frustration resolved and learned a bit more about the Record Suspension process at the same time. Back to Home
