Entering the United States with a Non-Conviction on my RCMP record By Lisa @ PardonsJanuary 10, 2017Edited by Admin0 Back to Home Q - About 10 years ago I was charged with impaired driving (DUI), but was never convicted of this - instead I was given a sentence of careless driving (which is a traffic offence, rather than a criminal one). Nevertheless, this information is on my RCMP history report, and I would like to have it removed if possible. I need to be in the United States in a year and a half from now (for my medical training). Is it possible to remove these from the RCMP report? A – Even though your criminal charge was dropped to a lesser offence, because you were fingerprinted it is still showing up on an RCMP or CPIC report. If the Americans or an employer does a criminal background check they can see that you’ve been in trouble and the situation is embarrassing and can create other problems. We can do a file destruction to remove your fingerprints from the police and RCMP database. Once the file destruction is approved it will no longer show up in a criminal background check. Back to Home
