Denied Entry at US Border, What Should I do? By Carla @ Pardons U.S. Entry WaiverOctober 28, 2019Edited by Admin0 Back to Home Visitor: I was just wondering how does the US waiver process work for traveling to the United States from Canada? I was convicted of a criminal offence back in 2013 for fraud under $5000 to which I paid restitution and served a one year probation. I was told I may have trouble crossing the US border with this criminal offence. Since then I’ve crossed multiple times without any issues until recently I was asked at the US border for an entry waiver which I didn’t have because I didn’t know I needed one. I wasn’t denied entry but they told me the next time I cross I will need it. What should I do? Pardons Canada: Its too bad that you did not first obtain a pardon or record suspension. If you would have received your pardon then the Americans would not have seen that you have a criminal offence. Now that they have flagged you in their system you will require a US Entry Waiver or I-194 to re-enter the US. This application takes time to get approved and is costly. Pardons Canada helps hundreds of Canadians each month to prepare the application so that it can get approved by the Americans. US Entry Waivers are usually valid from 1 to 5 years.
