Banned from entering the US By Lisa @ Pardons U.S. Entry WaiverOctober 25, 2019Edited by Admin0 Back to Home Visitor: I am banned from entering the U.S. for 5 years is there anything you can help me to re-enter to U.S. as I have family there and I am eager to visit them. Waiting 5 years seems to be outrageous, is there anything we can do in the meantime? Pardons Canada: Usually, the Americans will deny you entry if they see that you have a criminal record including theft, drugs, fraud, and uttering threats to name a few. However, you can also be denied entry to the US if you do not have a criminal record but if you overstayed your welcome in the US or entered illegally and got caught. In your case, it is likely that you were denied entry because you overstayed your welcome in the US at some point and you stayed longer in that country than you were allowed. If that is the case, then the Americans believe you may want to live in the US so they can ban you from entering for a period of five years. Pardons Canada: Once you are banned from the US for a 5 year period, you will need to apply to lift the ban with an I-212 form. You can apply to lift the ban usually after 2.5 years or roughly half the time of the ban. Lifitng the ban with an I-212 can cost over $500 US. You will then need to apply for a US Entry Waiver called an I-194 to have the right to visit the US. You may only make both applications if you are a Canadian citizen. We help thousands of Canadians each year to obtain US Entry Waivers, I-194s and I-212s as the process is complicated and its important to be done correctly in order to be accepted by the Department of Homeland Security.
