Applying for a job with a withdrawn charge By Jessica @ Pardons HomeMarch 28, 2017Edited by Admin0 Back to Home Q - I found this question on a job application "Have you ever been convicted of a criminal offense for which no pardon has been granted?" If an individual has had their criminal charges withdrawn can this individual select "no" when answering this question? Is disclosure of criminal charges necessary? The case was resolved mid 2014 and charges were withdrawn. There was a peace bond during this time period A – If you were fingerprinted by the police and the charges were later withdrawn, dismissed, stayed, peace bond, or discharged, this is not considered a full conviction. So you can answer NO to the question “have you ever been convicted of a criminal offence for which a pardon has not been granted.” However, the fingerprints will remain in the system until a File Destruction is completed. A destruction will have the police and RCMP remove the prints from the system so that in the future if anyone runs your name in a criminal background check, nothing will show up. Back to Home
